Tamilrockers vs Tamil cinema
Tamilrockers vs Tamil cinema this is
What going on here for the past 1 year. On the very first time the tamil
rockers made its entry into the online world few years back. It almost wanted
two long years to gain the attention of the entire cinema world toward them.
They started this piracy as a small time pass and it turned out to be one of the
most spoken topic around the country. They might have started their website
like other blogs and uploaded pirated contents and shared their links on to the
social media like facebook, twitter and other sites. Thus they become the
virally shared blog at one stance. The anti-piracy has not appeared at the
starting. Tamilrockers after two long years reached the place where they wanted
to achieve. After that they started uploading every movie releasing on the very
first day, made them more popular among the viewers. Leak of movies on the very
first day made a statement to the film makers and producers. This made the
people to watch the movies on internet sites on the very first day which
reduced the first day collections of the under rated movies. Movies of big
stars has not affected by this as they have a huge number of dedicated fans who
watch movies on the very first day even if the film was a flop show.
The piracy has affected many
directors and their livelihood also the producers. The producers were spending
their whole earnings on the new movies in the thought of getting the interest. But
the advent of piracy sites made it a tough call for the producers. Also the
directors who were new in the cinema had spending their whole life in making a
good movie. But on the very first day it got leaked on the piracy sites make
the efforts of the directors in vain. Thus we need to give priority to the good
content rich movies.
Seriously who were
tamilrockers?
What’s the big
deal?
What they were
asking?
Why they were
targeting Tamil cinema?
Entering this topic you might have
watched the tamilrockers the untold story. In that shortfilm, the story starts
with a good, smart, handsome boy looking for a chance to get into the cinema.
He walk in for many auditions and not selected by any. Finally, change happens
when he met a director who asks him to pay 1 lakh then he will get a lead role
in the movie. He does not have such huge amount of money. Dejected in life and
decided to forget his desire to become an actor.
He searched for a job based on his studies
and got one at United Stated. There he met a guy, who is a hacker and can hack
anything that brought in front of him. Days rolled on they become friends.
Within few months they become very close. One day accidentally the hero reminds
of the director who insulted him the other day. Went sleepless and decided to
take revenge on Tamil cinema which destroyed his dreams and desires.
With the help of his friend he got
the pirated versions of the Tamil movie prints from the web storages. Then they
published them on their website in the pirated form. They got ads from ad
companies that earned them a respectable amount of money. Also the sell the
pirated version to other websites that too yielded them a plenty of money. The
piracy is at its best in a country where piracy is a crime under the Copyrights
Act. According to this act one cannot copy others work, art or other things
that they produce. Actor Vishal combined with anti - piracy and the police set
up a trap for the tamilrockers where they escaped wisely. But the police
thought they got the culprits but still the website is leaking that eventually
shows us that the men behind tamilrockers is still not arrested.
Coming back to the content, we all know that the reasons for the
piracy breakout over the period of time. People were highly concerned about the
movie costs. You guys need to think where the movie makers missed. I think it
is really in the costing scenario. A movie ticket from Rs 30 raging to Rs 150.
I’m not saying that Rs. 150 is not an affordable price, but if one
watching the movie including all the charges for 500; then how much need to
spend for one family? It would be close to 2000. His monthly salary would be
15000. How he can watch a movie in theatre with his family. Additional charges for
car parking, two wheeler parking these all the other reasons for this piracy
breakout.
The whole cinema industry was said,
that the tamilrockers were stealing their money. What the film industry is
doing then, they too stealing our money for useless movies and copycat movies.
First day ticket price for the big stars were around 1000 – 3000, in return
giving a movie that have nothing to watch, no story, no content. Movies were
made only for the growth of the actors. We may have noticed the increase in the
salaries of the actor and the actress, the salaries were our money. Without
giving a quality movie, with some mass action scenes added with romantic songs
without a story and content they were making movies. Still the movie is
grossing RS 100 Cr on box office. This is the condition in Kollywood cinema. We
were making every movie over rated. We the people need to wake up, its not
about watching the movie on theatres. Conversely it’s about supporting the
movie that contains a good story or good screen play. We were always focussing
on the big budget films, there starts our problem. There were several low
budget films that failed to get the audience response even with good story
line.
If we want to stop piracy the cinema
industry need to take some valiant moves regarding the cost of the ticket. Let
us see whether any change will be made in the Tamil cinema.
